Songbyrd Music House

Songbyrd Music House is Washington DC's most acclaimed intimate music venue. Co-founded in 2015 by Joe Lapan and Alisha Edmonson, Songbyrd opened in Adams Morgan before relocating to its current Union Market home in 2021. Pitchfork named it one of America's 36 Essential Music Venues.

Washington City Paper awarded it Best New Venue (2016) and Best Place to See Up-and-Coming Bands (2025). It won the Wammie Award for DC's Best Music Venue in 2023, 2024, and 2026. Songbyrd has hosted early-career sets by Khalid, Tyler Childers, Big Thief, Lauv, Lil Peep, Laufey, and hundreds more.
