metrobar is one of DC's most inventive and community-rooted bars, built around a redesigned 5000-series WMATA Metro railcar parked adjacent to the Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Metro station. Opened in 2021, the 11,000-square-foot multi-purpose venue earned the title of Best Bar in DC for 2024.
The mission of metrobar is explicitly civic: to connect the District's 8 wards through entertaining, collaborative cultural experiences. Free live bands play on Friday nights from 8-11 PM during peak seasons.
